If there could be one thing I would change about Morocco it would be the sugar coating
and talking. Many may talk, talk,
and talk and make you feel good, but they will not deliver leaving you feeling
empty. One time with Mr. Casa, he did
not make tagine and I was upset about it and pouting like a ten year old, but I communicated to him that it was not about the tagine rather it was about not following through words with action. When you say you are going to do something-just follow through and do it.
Side note: Mr. Casa made me a salad that night and tagine the next night. Thankfully he realized that I did not like this behavior and changed it-smart, insightful man

If
you have nothing real to say, then please just say nothing at all. Selfish, arrogant, and a bit stubborn-these are qualities I
exhibit from time to time. While they are not positive, I am direct and honest about strengths and weaknesses as a person. While I maybe a lot of things, I try my best not to instill "false hope" into human beings. While I do not expect people to understand how these false intentions impact themselves and others, I can say that being direct and honest can sometimes just be the best policy. In the states, there is a beautiful quality of being "direct" and "honest." This is not saying the US is perfectly honest by any means at all, but Morocco seems to take it to a whole new level or as my Moroccan student said the other day, "Moroccans are some of the biggest hypocrites in the world." For me, this seems a bit harsh, but this is just the opinion presented by my student.
