Silence and the Arab Grudge

When you say or do something that an Arab man does not approve of- the silence can feel razor sharp. A word, a look, an attitude, an action/behavior, can change their opinion or feeling towards you, which creates this bold silence.  The silence can be just as hurtful as a verbal or physical altercation.  It makes you question your sense of self and reflect back on your behavior and actions.  You reflect back on what you have done wrong and it replays in your mind creating guilt and shame.
