Let me Get Back to You

This is a famous phrase in Casablanca.  Again, I try and not say “Morocco” because I have not traveled in all of Morocco to generalize.  I just base my experience off my encounters with many different people. Although, this phrase is a common one you will hear because again “The Code of Honor.”

The Moroccans want to help you, but they forget or get busy.   A funny example is with my friend Joanna from Canada.  One day, she needed to get her glasses repaired and her Moroccan friend offered to fix them.  She told him, “No, no it’s not necessary,” as she is quite an independent woman and does not rely on people for things.  He insisted on helping her and took her glasses and her prescription because the lens was broken.  One week and two weeks went by and she never heard from him. A few days before she had plans to leave back to Canada, he phoned saying that he has the glasses in his car.  He gave them back with no repair and also no prescription because he misplaced it…

The moral to this story is......

“Good intention should follow with good action.” PRIS
