Morocco is not a place for pictures in bars, restaurants, lounges, cafes, etc. For a long time, I wondered what is the big deal and then it finally occurred to me, “I am living in a Muslim country.”
These people do not want pictures because what they are doing is against
Islam. People have families and parents who do not approve of this behaviour,
but people engage in drinking and going out without their parents knowledge.
They hide it from their parents, loved ones, and act like innocence, which is
why pictures are frowned upon so much here. I could not understand it and now I
finally get it.
It is so funny having these cultural epiphanies....
